The MS society of Brazil organised a World MS Day (WMSD) street party. The party was held on a street called Alameda Marus, close to the Brazilian MS Society headquarters. The main goal of the event was to raise awareness about multiple sclerosis (MS).
This was the first time a public street party was held for WMSD. The aim was to raise awareness of MS amongst the public. General information about MS and its symptoms was available andmore than 500 information packs were distributed among the attendees.
A music tent was set up in the middle of the street. The tent included a large WMSD banner surrounded with lots of balloons. People living with MS, their friends and members of the public joined together as one.
The Audience gathered to eat food and hear beautiful live music. Beatles cover band the Zoom Beatles provided a feel-good atmosphere. A band called Dudu Franҫa performed songs with a special guest singer. Everyone enjoyed raising awareness about MS while listening to music and dancing in the street.
