A Street Party Marks MS Day 2012 in Brazil

In Brazil the Associação Brasileira de Esclerose Múltipla (ABEM) held their World MS Day activities this year in Alameda Maruás, São Paulo. The awareness raising event took the form of a street party, with a stall offerering refreshments and music from Brazilian singer Dudu França and Beatles tribute act Zoom Beatles. Volunteers distributed 500 packs containing information about MS and its symptoms, and participants included patients with MS.

World MS Day in Bosnia and Herzegovina

World MS Day was marked in Tulza on the 29th May this year by a series of lectures. The event, which was held in the Dramar centre, was organised by the Association of people with multiple sclerosis and led by Prof. Dr. med. Sci. Osman Sinanovic and Mr. med. sci. dr. Adnan Burina. Discussions focussed on MS and how it affects women in particular, and ways in which the condition can be managed. After the lecture there was entertainment by singer songwriter Jasmin Mag. The cool kids were out in force in Argentina

In an attempt to rally public interest and support in the World MS Day campaign the Argentinian MS society took their coolest volunteers to the streets. World MS Day 2012 in Algeria

Algeria celebrated World MS Day 2012 on 24 May. The event was hosted at Mustapha University Hospital in Algiers. The multiple sclerosis (MS) team from the Department of Neurology joined forces with the radiology and immunology departments to raise awareness. The day was an opportunity for neurologists, doctors and people living with MS to learn more about the disease. Over 120 MS associates attended the event from organisations in Algiers, Setif and Sidi Bel Abbes. The day opened with talks on diagnosis and therapeutic management and included discussions on treatment management costs.
