Queensland sees red!

MS Awareness Week in Queensland, Australia is currently underway with their “Kiss goodbye to MS” campaign in full swing. MS Queensland organised a huge event on the 30th May, where hundreds of commuters had their lips painted red as part of the “Kiss goodbye to MS” Campaign (below are some photos from the day). It was a great opportunity to talk to people about MS and support the cause, and the bold red lips logo will remain an enduring image of the day. Several iconic buildings will also be lit up in striking red throughout the week in support of raising awareness for MS, including Brisbane’s Kurilpa Bridge (below). Australian Couple raise $60,000 for MS Research

Australian couple Ross and Dapne Davies raised more than 60,000 Australian dollars for the Australian MS Research organisation this week. The couple whose son has MS held a black tie dinner to raise money for MS research earlier this week. The sum of money raised was unexpected for an event in their small town of Gympie. The money will go towards a research project which is coming to an end shortly, the results of which will be published in 2012. “Kiss goodbye to MS” – Queensland, Australia

MS Australia – QLD are celebrating World MS Day in style, with a series of events taking place throughout May. In Brisbane city MS Australia – QLD will be holding a “Kiss Goodbye to MS” event, to help raise awareness of how MS can affect women between the ages of 20 and 40. Their MS Support Groups, made up of people living with MS, will be fundraising through the sale of Kiss Goodbye to MS badges and lolly bags. All the money they raise will go towards providing support for those living with MS in the local area. Other events include a roundtable, which will be taking place on the 31st May at the KPMG offices in Brisbane. Attendance is expected by senior politicians and decision-makers who will be taking part…

MS Australia launches a national campaign to “Kiss Goodbye to MS”

This year to recognise MS Awareness Week and World MS Day, a national campaign Kiss Goodbye to MS has been developed to create awareness on multiple sclerosis and people living with the disease. During MS Awareness Week, MS Australia will be encouraging people to wear red lipstick to help spread the word on MS. So, find your favourite shade of red lippy and join in the fun!
