Celebrating World MS Day with a party in Iraq

Baghdad MS Society is organising a World MS Day party for health professionals to mingle with people with MS. The party will take place on 14 May at a hotel in Baghdad. The Society have invited Iraqi football players to the party, so it should be a good one! Tweet This Post Share on Facebook

Medical Lectures take place for WMSD 2012 in Iraq

The Baghdad MS clinic and teaching hospital in Iraq held three lectures on World MS Day 2012. Around 200 people attended the lectures. The audience included people with multiple sclerosis and their families. Neurologists from the MS clinic provided information about MS and MS treatments. A nurse from the Clinic talked about rehabilitation and healthy living options. Three people living with MS shared their experiences with the audience. During the event the attendees were invited to lunch. The event included a question and answer sessions. A stand was available with leaflets and other informative material. A medical conference in Iraq for WMSD

A conference was held in Baghdad teaching hospital, in Iraq on the 26th May this year. The event was organised as part of the Iraqi MS Society’s World MS Day celebrations. A good number of people with MS, their supporters, friends and relatives attended as well Doctors and specialists. The meeting was headed by Senior Professor Dr. Akram Al-Mahdawi. The conference was opened by Dr. Sarmad Abdul Rasool Al-mashta, with an introduction to MS followed by a presentation of current treatments and drugs available. Celebrating World MS Day in Iraq

The Iraqi MS Society is planning a series of lectures for people living with, and affected by MS on 26th May 2011. The lectures, which will take place in Baghdad, will include presentations from doctors, therapists, and people with MS, and will encourage peer support. The Minister of Health has been invited to attend alongside a number of prestigious doctors and professors. The MS Society hopes both to raise awareness of MS amongst medical professionals, as well as to strengthen the relationship between doctors and patients. Tweet This Post Share on Facebook
