MS Festival in Greece for World MS Day

The Greek MS Society will mark World MS Day 2013 with an MS Festival in Thessaloniki, Greece. The festival will take place on 2 June at the American Farm School of Thessaloniki and there will be something for everyone including workshops, info sessions, discussions, yoga, therapeutic riding and art therapy. WMSD 2012 in Greece

A series of events took place over Greece throughout May this year to mark World MS Day in the Country. A stall was set up in the Mediterranean Cosmos shopping centre by the Greek MS Society (GMSS) from which information was distributed to passers-by over an 8 day period. As well as informing shoppers about the work of GMSS, WMSD banners were set up alongside a TV screen displaying the campaign messages and videos.

On the 29^th of May a musical evening was held, featuring traditional Greek music and attended by GMSS Members and friends.

A conference was held on the 30^th May and hosted by GMSS President, Dr. Anastasios Orologas, who welcomed 250 attendees in discussing scientific progress in the treatment of MS. The discussion centred around important topics such as recent advancements in MS treatment methods, stress factors in MS and the impact of nutrition in MS patients’ everyday lives.

The meeting concluded with a buffet at the underground hall of the Aristotle University congress centre where visitors had an opportunity to view the new “BmyEyes” photographic collection, which showcases work by artists with MS. World MS Day for The Greece MS Society

The Greek Multiple Sclerosis Society’s World MS Day Celebrations are well underway. On the 25th May, they had an open discussion event for patients at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The discussion was centred around work and problems which face people with MS in their everyday life. There was also a presentation of recent treatments available. From the 8th to the 24th June they are holding an art exhibition in Thessaloniki. The artwork has all been created by people with MS. “I have faith in myself”

A Greek MS Forum have uploaded an inspirational song to their site, to encourage those with MS. The song “I have Faith in Myself” is by Greek musician EmptySky, and is about his journey from being diagnosed with MS to learning to overcome the difficulties he encounters in his life.
