May=MS month in Denmark

May is the most important month of the year for the Danish Multiple Sclerosis Society (DMSS). For the past three years they have used the month to raise awareness of MS in the run up to World MS Day (WMSD).This year the DMSShave placed 10,000 fundraising cans in 7,000 retail locations to raise awareness of their work, of MS and to collect much needed donations. Raising money is crucial for developing medical and social research. A Decadent dinner raises significant funds in South Africa

The Multiple Sclerosis Society of South Africa (MSSA) Western Cape held an opulent lunch on the 1st June this year. 96 guests attended the 5th annual “Big 5 Multiple Sclerosis Fundraiser Luncheon” at Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate in Franschhoek. The event was presided over by Master of Ceremonies Ryan O’Conner, a Patron of MS Western cape and guests were treated to a 5 course feast, prepared by Grande Provence’s Executive Chef Darren Roberts and Michelin star chef Michel Louws. Entertainment was also provided in the form of artists such as Marimba Vibrations, Tony Nelson,Emil Struwig, Darryl Walters and Kari who greatly added to the overall success of the day. The “Joyful Journey to End MS” in Korea

The Korean Multiple Sclerosis Society’s event on the 28th May was a resounding success with over 150 people attending. The event in Hangang Park “I walk for MS” was organised to raise awareness of World MS Day and was covered by the national media in the form of television and newspaper coverage. Items such as scarves and stickers in the MS orange colour were handed out at the beginning of the day to all participants, who set out on the walk together at 2pm. The participants included people with MS, their family and friends, members of the public and health care providers. Researcher in a box and other innovative ideas to raise awareness of MS in Denmark In Denmark, a ‘Researcher in a Box’ set off on a nationwide tour as part of the Danish MS month.
