Denmark is raising the bar with their World MS Day event

Looks like the Danish MS Society will be really busy for the next few months! They have so much planned to mark World MS Day – they have placed 13,000 cans for coin collection in several retail stores to raise money for MS research. They will also be delivering their own version of the Australian ‘Kiss MS Goodbye’ campaign. As part of the campaign, they are organising an event on World MS Day where they will be filming members of the public as they are made to experience how MS symptoms feel. Danish MS Society is hoping to include Danish celebrities – such as musician Szhirley, TV star Pernille Aalund, musicians Lina Rafn from Infernal, Saseline and Julie Berthelsen, and comedian Ellie Jokar – in the campaign.…

May=MS month in Denmark

May is the most important month of the year for the Danish Multiple Sclerosis Society (DMSS). For the past three years they have used the month to raise awareness of MS in the run up to World MS Day (WMSD).This year the DMSShave placed 10,000 fundraising cans in 7,000 retail locations to raise awareness of their work, of MS and to collect much needed donations. Raising money is crucial for developing medical and social research. Women and Employment – World MS Day in Denmark

Scleroseforeningen in Denmark are putting the emphasis on women and employment for World MS Day 2011. They have arranged a whole month of activities around the theme “MS and Awareness”, and amongst other activities will be collecting donations of people’s small change from 10,000 shops around the country.    A facebook app encouraging people to appreciate their female friends that little bit more will be launched around the 25th May. They have also interviewed 7 women with MS about how it affects their working life. These interviews have been printed in their magazine, and videos of the interviews are also available on their website. Researcher in a box and other innovative ideas to raise awareness of MS in Denmark In Denmark, a ‘Researcher in a Box’ set off on a nationwide tour as part of the Danish MS month.
