In Cuba this year members of FELEM (Spanish MS Society) and MS Cuba met to celebrate the twinning of their societies. Margarita Ruiz, president of MS Cuba and Josep Maria Perello, treasurer of FELEM met together along with other members of MS Cuba on the 5th May to celebrate the twinning, and to discuss new developments in the treatment of MS. During the meeting which took place in Havana, World MS Day films and a FELEM film “Vivir con Esclerosis Multiple” (Living with MS) was played and there was also live entertainment from Comedian Omar Franco. Activities took place in Havana and Cienfuegos to mark the second international day for MS Two events took place on the 29th May to celebrate World MS Day in Cuba. The first was in Havana and the second in Cienfuegos. Both events were focused on raising awareness of MS amongst the general public whilst providing a day of activities for people with MS and their families. Music was offered by local band Los Novas in Cienfuegos, whilst in Havana the freediving world record holder, Deborah Andollo was present. Tweet This Post Share on Facebook
