World MS Day in Argentina

Leni

Posted on May 30th, 2013

MS Argentina has a lot planned in June. Two World MS Day events will be taking place in Argentina in the following weeks: The Longboard Day at the Palermo Parks on 1 June and a live show featuring Kevin Johansen, Liniers and The Nada on 10 June. Brenda, one of the six young people featured in the World MS Day 2013 campaign, will be hosting both events. The Society’s also doing an ad campaign with ads on 100 buses and they’ve been featured in Clarin’s magazine. Pics to follow! Tweet This Post Share on Facebook

Climbing beyond your limits

Leni

Lori Schneider carried the World MS Day flag to Mount Everest in 2009. This year Lori shared her motto with us and told us a little bit about why she picked it.

lori

“All of us living with MS around the world share the same fears. We wonder what will become of our bodies and will we still live a full, happy life. We all share the same dreams too. We dream of doing things we enjoy and making plans for our future.

After summiting Mt. Everest in 2009, I learned to take each day, one step at a time, much like we did on the mountain. I have also learned not to give up on my hopes and dreams. I am one of the lucky ones with MS, because mine is very stable right now. As I climbed high on Everest, I carried the hopes and dreams of all of us with MS with me, every step of the way.

Now, my new mountain to climb is teaching others about multiple sclerosis. I have been blessed with many gifts in my life, including the opportunity to travel the world and raise awareness of our disease. In meeting with medical researchers, hospitals, the World Health Organization, and MS Societies around the globe, I am able to be a voice for those who cannot share their own.

My message to all who will listen…help us to live our dreams through continued efforts to find a cure for MS. We take each day one step at a time with this disease, and when all those little steps are linked together, we can climb to great heights.” ~Lori Schneider
