On Monday 3rd December 2012 disability rights activists in Montevideo, Uruguay walked from the University to the City Hall to raise awareness of accessibility issues faced by persons with disabilities in Uruguay. In the weeks leading up to the event representatives from organisations representing the interests of persons with disabilities in Uruguay worked together to draft a statement related to the rights of persons with disabilities. This statement was read out to the City Mayor on the steps of City Hall and directed at key decision makers in Montevideo. To mark the International Day for Persons with Disabilities 2013 AMSEL took part in an event held at the Mercedes Benz Museum in Stuttgart. The event, which brought together organisations for disabled people in the area was held on Sunday 2nd December- one day ahead of the International Day. The Mercedes Benz Museum ran a special programme of activities based around movement and dance.
