Korean MS Society celebrates 4th annual World MS Day

The Korean MS Society are marking the 4th annual World MS Day with a walk in Yeouido Hangang Park, Seoul. The Society is expecting more than 1,500 people to attend their 2 June event and have been busy promoting the event in the local press. Saudi Arabia raises awareness for World MS Day

The Saudi MS Advisory Group held a series of public awareness lectures in Riyadh 24 May where they were expecting 300 people plus the media. In line with the 2012 World MS Day theme of Living with MS, the lectures focused on the needs of people with MS and raising awareness. Neurologists and people with MS presented during the event and the audience were treated to a theatrical presentation about the disease. A day of activities in Palestine

On 24 May the Multiple Sclerosis Patients and Friends Society – Palestine hosted a day of activities in their Nablus City headquarters . Some 500 people affected by MS were expected to attend and the national and local media were invited to cover the event. Portugal celebrates World MS Day 2012 with its special friends

In Portugal, Sociedade Portuguesa de Esclerose Múltipla (SPEM) has been extremely busy planning several social, educational, cultural and recreative activities across the country. The activities hope to open the doors to the MS community towards promoting fulfilling lives, and raise awareness in the general public and decision makers, regarding the specific challenges of MS and addressing the importance of rights and social protection to the MS population. Several special friends will be attending these events; Ana Moura is a fado singer and godmother of the Institution, and a very well know artist in Portugal and abroad. Spain gets WMSD message out nationwide

On World MS Day 2012, across Spain, the general public are being informed about MS, thanks to the efforts of the Spanish MS society EME. One of television’s major channels featured WMSD on its morning news bulletin, as well as the second national newspaper, El Mundo. Yesterday, a documentary, featuring with three Spanish people living with MS was broadcast on national television. EME also handed the Spanish Parliament a manifesto for people with MS, outlining the most important policy steps which need to be taken.
