Laura who was diagnosed with MS in 2004 contacted us to tell us about what she and her son would be doing to celebrate World MS Day this year. She said,
I’ll be at home for World MS Day 2012, and Skype with my son Matt at the end of his work day. I was diagnosed in 2004 and Matt was diagnosed in March of 2011… We are both on the same shots and both had the same first symptoms. This was not something I wanted in common with my son, but we have learned to accept the hand we were both dealt.
If you’d like to tell us what you will be doing for World MS Day this year please email our Campaigns Manager, Ayesha at ayesha@msif.org

Laura~ Thank you and your son for sharing your story and the picture. You both look wonderful, and like nothing is wrong!!!LOL!!! If we had a dollar for everytime we heard that, right!!! Seriously, I can’t imagine what you went through when you found out your son had MS too, as it is bad enough you have it. I have been living with MS for 20yrs, and just recently had to quit working, and I just hope and pray my two children (both boys) will not get this disease. I will keep you and your son in my thoughts and prayers, and may you both stay as healthy as possible, stay positive and keep a sense of humor! That keeps me going, as do my kids and supportive hubby! God Bless you both and take care. Love and Peace, Erika
