Malaysia MS Society “I Walk for MS”

On the 22nd May the Malaysia MS Society set off with over 300 participants on their event “I walk for MS”. The society are delighted with the turn out, which was up from 100 people last year, and the photos of the day show that it was a great success. The day began with a public seminar and a talk given by a Neurologist and advisor to the MS Society, bright and early at 8am. Research and employment – WMSD in Yemen

On the 24th May in Yemen an event was held at the Faculty of Medicine at Aden University. The day was attended by officials, academics and members of the public, and a paper was presented on current MS Research. A speech was given at the start of the ceremony, followed by an update on the progress of the MS Society over the past year. The World MS Day topic of Work and Employment was also covered, in particular emphasis was put on increasing employer’s understanding and how they can best assist their employees with MS. In Adan mall, members of the society wore T Shirts with the world MS Day logo on and handed out brochures about MS to help raise awareness. The event…

Starbucks joins the fight to end MS

Starbucks employees raised money across the USA for the National MS Society by organising walks for MS 185 partners, friends and family in 18 states participated in Starbucks’ MS WALK teams throughout the month of May. Queensland sees red!

MS Awareness Week in Queensland, Australia is currently underway with their “Kiss goodbye to MS” campaign in full swing. MS Queensland organised a huge event on the 30th May, where hundreds of commuters had their lips painted red as part of the “Kiss goodbye to MS” Campaign (below are some photos from the day). It was a great opportunity to talk to people about MS and support the cause, and the bold red lips logo will remain an enduring image of the day. Several iconic buildings will also be lit up in striking red throughout the week in support of raising awareness for MS, including Brisbane’s Kurilpa Bridge (below). The “Joyful Journey to End MS” in Korea

The Korean Multiple Sclerosis Society’s event on the 28th May was a resounding success with over 150 people attending. The event in Hangang Park “I walk for MS” was organised to raise awareness of World MS Day and was covered by the national media in the form of television and newspaper coverage. Items such as scarves and stickers in the MS orange colour were handed out at the beginning of the day to all participants, who set out on the walk together at 2pm. The participants included people with MS, their family and friends, members of the public and health care providers.
