This year World MS Day celebrates everyone who has broken down the barriers to living with MS. Those people could be carers, friends, family members, health professionals, policy makers, companies, schools or support groups…anyone who has made a difference to people with MS.

This year we are sharing stories about how people and organisations are working together to improve access and break down the barriers to living with MS.
Living with MS involves all kinds of challenges. In the run up to World MS Day 2015, we want to celebrate the ways that people all over the world are breaking down the barriers to living with MS.
In 2015 we’ll be sharing all the ways that people around the world have improved access for people with MS. We’ll be asking people to tell us about the people and organisations that have broken down the barriers to living with MS and made a difference in their lives.
For 2014, the World MS Day theme was access – not just physical access, but also access to drugs, information and treatment, and the same social and economic opportunities as everyone else.
On Sunday 25th May, 21 volunteers from Japan MS Society took to the streets of down-town Tokyo to raise awareness about Multiple Sclerosis. The team handed out pamphlets with ball-point pens containing information about MS to over 5000 passers by. The volunteers were equipped with World MS Day banners and bright tropical pink T-shirts.
In Australia the Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition created videos to show their support for World MS Day.

The Greek MS Society organised a whole MS festival for World MS Day for the second time this year. There is not currently an MS organisation in Albania, however, on World MS Day a group of people with MS gathered to celebrate in Gjirokaster. They discussed establishing the Albanian MS Society to support all people with MS, and to aid them in improving their quality of life.
The Kuwait MS Association celebrated World MS Day on May 17. They organised lectures about MS and distributed brochures to the public. They also organised entertainment activities.
This year a Finnish band recorded a song for World MS Day. The song was used in the Finnish MS Society’s national media campaign across television, radio, newspapers and Facebook.
